Gender and Social Economy

Create a space for theoretical and practical reflection from the gender approach in the social economy at the international level, by addressing both from the academic and professional point of views with a gender approach:
- social justice,
- public policies,
- management models,
- new forms of collaboration,
- case studies,
- feminist economics in the social economy.
Call for Papers available in EN – ES
A first very successful Webinar has taken place on last November 23 where more than 50 people took part. These members of the Working group presented in 3 sub-groups their proposals of contributions to this research. 30 projects were then presented and discussed in Spanish and English.
Around this theme Gender and SSE, topics explored are very varied and more than 13 countries of different cultures, traditions, level of economic development,… are represented (Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chili, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, France, Mexico, Peru, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Turkey, …
The future step is the production by all contributors (+/-30) of a full paper according to the comments and remarks received during this seminar online for beginning of May 2023 in order to organize a workshop dedicated to this specific theme of Gender and SSE during the next research conference in Seoul on 4-6 July 2023.
Several axes and analysis types emerge from this first discussion and exchange of points of view :
- Women’s participation and leadership in social economy organisations
- Contribution of SSE to the reduction of gender differences
- Barriers and challenges for women in SSE organizations
Work Calendar:
- May 2023: Submission of full papers 10 May 2023.
- July 2023: Second round of public presentations at the 9th CIRIEC International Conference on Social Economy Research in Seoul (Republic of Korea). For those who cannot attend Seoul Conference we will prepare a possible alternative date to have an online session.
- September-October 2023: Final selection of articles to be published in book format or in the special issue of a journal.
- December 2023: Editing and publication of the book.
- January 2024: Third public presentation of the texts selected for the special issue of a journal in an online seminar.
- February to September 2024: Final review process of the papers for the journal’s special issue.
- December 2024: Editing and publication of the special issue of the journal.

- Word file; Times New Roman 12; 1,5 spacing; total 6000 to 8000 words, including title, keywords and bibliographic references
- Indicate SURNAME of author(s) in capital letters (example: Joanne SMITH) and provide email address of corresponding author
- Name the file as following: SURNAME_5 main words of title (example: SMITH_Women SSE Boards Mexico)
