Commission Social and Cooperative Economy

Some specific scientific activities of CIRIEC are developed by the International Scientific Commission “Social and Cooperative Economy”.
The Commission has about a hundred members (economists, sociologists, political analysts, geographers…).

Chaired by Professor Carmen Marcuello of the University Zaragoza (Spain), it follows recent developments and emerging research topics in the social economy at large.

One of the main tasks of the Commission is to organize every two years a great forum for exchange and reflexion in social economy research (first edition in 2007). The 10th conference took place in October 2025 in Bordeaux (France) and the next will be held from June, 30 to July, 2 2027 in Bogota (Colombia).
