The CIRIEC Scientific Commission on Public Economy\/Public Services organizes a webinar entitled\u00a0‘Public Development Banks and the Future of Public-Public Collaborations<\/strong>‘ presented\u00a0by\u00a0Thomas Marois<\/strong><\/a>.
\nThrough the lens of public development banks and a concern for public pathways to financing global green and just transitions, Prof. Marois will reflect on Finance for Development summit negociated document and its potential to catalyze new public-public collaborations between public development banks and with public services.<\/p>\n

\"\"Thomas Marois,<\/strong>\u00a0is Professor of Political Economy in the Department of Political Science, McMaster University, Canada and formerly a Reader in Development Studies, SOAS University of London.
\nAuthor of\u00a0Public Banks: Decarbonisation, Definancialisation, and Democratisation<\/em>\u00a0<\/a>(Cambridge University Press, 2021) \u2014 awarded the\u00a02023 Joan Robinson Prize<\/strong>\u00a0\u2014 he explores\u00a0pro-public financial alternatives<\/strong>\u00a0to support\u00a0green and just transitions.<\/strong>
\nThomas collaborates with organizations such as\u00a0UNCTAD<\/strong>, the\u00a0Public Banking Institute<\/strong>, and\u00a0Public Bank New York & San Francisco<\/strong>, and serves on the\u00a0Council of Europe Development Bank\u2019s Social Cohesion Award Jury<\/strong>.
\nHis research continues to shape global discussions on how\u00a0public finance can drive sustainable transformation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
