This is one of the central questions in residential construction in the context of access for migrants to subsidised housing. In 2000 a limited-profit housing association in Vienna attempted the creation of an interethnic housing model. The quality of the architecture and a socially competent caretaker service were identified as starting points for fundamental integrative measures. As shown by an evaluation in 2003, the attempt was successful. This book presents a new analysis of this housing model from 2016 as well as a comprehensive study by Joachim Brech and Heidrun Feigelfeld of life together on housing estates built since 2000.
