SUMMARY:Seminar: Making ESG-reporting strategic and efficient for public enterprises - 4 June 2026 - Paris
DESCRIPTION:Seminar\nMaking ESG-reporting strategic and efficient\nfor public enterprises \n4 June 2026 – Paris (face-to-face event)\nThe OECD has updated its corporate governance guidelines for state-owned enterprises (SOEs) since 2024 to include sustainability\, highlighting the key role public authorities play in fostering resilience and long-term value. At the same time\, although the EU’s sustainability reporting framework has undergone significant changes\, double materiality in ESG reporting remains strategic—specifically for public enterprises in critical infrastructure sectors. \nImportantly\, sustainability reporting is no longer just about compliance; it supports strategic decision-making\, risk management\, investment planning\, and resilience building. The discussion focuses on identifying the most relevant ESG reporting requirements and indicators\, and on improving how this data is used to strengthen governance and guide long-term strategies. \nThe following question will guide the debate: How should ESG reporting be designed to make the business models of public enterprises more resilient? \nOrganized by CIRIEC International and CIRIEC-Austria (Verband der öffentlichen Wirtschaft und Gemeinwirtschaft – VÖWG) in collaboration with CIRIEC-France and CIRIEC-Belgium \nSpeakers \n\nPresentation of the study by Dr. Dorothea GREILING (Johannes Kepler Universität Linz – Austria)\nSara SULTAN-BALBUENA (OECD Head of Unit “Corporate Governance of State-Owned Enterprises”)\nAdriana DE LA CRUZ (OECD Policy Analyst at the “Sustainable Finance and Corporate Governance” team\, and lead co-author of the OECD Global Corporate Sustainability Report 2024 & 2025)\n1 MEP (e.g. shadow Rapporteur on the CSRD / CSDDD)\n… (ESG Expert\, Groupe ORANGE)\n2 further illustrations of such ESG reporting within large municipal or regional public companies (AT\, BE)\n\n——————— \n\nThe event will be held in English.\nFace-to-face event\nParticipation is free but registration is required. Registration HERE\nDesigned for ESG reporting experts in public sector organisations\n\nOrganized by
