Biography

Dr. Davorka Vidović is an Assistant professor at the Faculty of Political Science University of Zagreb, Croatia where she teaches courses Methods of Scientific Research, Sociology of Croatian Society, Sustainable Development and Social Innovation. She is a sociology scholar and holds a doctoral degree from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences University of Zagreb.
Her PhD thesis, focused on social entrepreneurship in Croatia, was a pioneering sociological study on this phenomenon in the country. For the last decade or more her research interests include various aspects of social enterprise, social entrepreneurship, cooperatives, social innovation, civil society, and sustainable development.
She regularly collaborates with international organisations and research networks on social economy and social enterprises such as CIRIEC, EURICSE, EMES. Also, she was engaged as an expert researcher for several studies and reports led by international organisations OECD, UNDP, World Bank etc. She is regularly involved in pro bono work in the local community and social enterprises sector on consulting, evaluation of social entrepreneurship projects, mentoring research studies and developing methodology for measuring social impact.
